Editorial Breakdown & Verdict
The Greenworks 82V 16‑inch cordless chainsaw offers a solid combination of power and portability. With a 16‑inch bar and 225 cuts per charge, it can handle a wide range of light‑to‑medium cutting tasks, from trimming overhanging branches to cutting firewood. The 82‑volt battery provides enough torque to rival many corded models, and the tool’s weight stays under 10 pounds, making it comfortable for extended use.
Priced at $247, the saw is a clear bargain compared to its $400 MSRP. The discount translates to $153 saved, which is significant for homeowners and weekend DIYers who need a reliable saw without the bulk of a commercial‑grade machine. However, the deal’s value hinges on the battery. The 82V pack is a single battery, so users will need to purchase additional batteries or a charger for continuous operation, adding to the total cost. For those who already own a compatible Greenworks battery, this deal is an excellent opportunity to upgrade.
Overall, the chainsaw delivers performance that justifies its price, especially when you factor in the savings. It’s a practical choice for anyone looking to replace a corded chainsaw or add a portable option to their toolkit.
